Our Mission
Her mission is threefold: respite, research and relief for cancer kids and their families. Sophia dreamed of making the world a little brighter for families in their darkest days by providing opportunities to make lasting memories though private, outdoor escapes, giving them time and space to connect, unwind and adventure. In addition, STF Inc. is determined to help find the cures these kids deserve by funding research initiatives, as well as providing financial relief to families that need to travel for treatment.
Respite
Sophia believed that the great outdoors could make anyone feel alive and free. It was her dream to provide children and their caregivers with private outdoor escapes where they could connect in solitude with nature and their families. We hope one day to own a private Sophia the Fierce Inc. getaway house for pediatric cancer families. For now, we will plan outdoor day and weekly retreats for local warriors in need.
Research
Only 4% of Federal cancer research dollars go towards funding pediatric cancers. Sophia’s protocol chemo regime included drugs made for adults in the 1970’s. When she relapsed, she had no proven majorly effective options. She was awaiting an underfunded vaccine trial. Sophia deserved so much more. We dedicate a portion of our funding directly to fund pediatric cancer research.
Relief
During Sophia’s battle she was aided in many ways, both emotionally and financially. From cupcakes on a cloudy chemo day, to a Bills game day outing to get her through to the next week of treatment to helping with travel costs. STF Inc. works with local social workers to identify the unique needs of the local cancer children they treat daily to provide relief in areas where they are most needed – big and small.
Our mission is extended through our community events, such as “Sophia’s Lemonade Stand”, see the video to get a glimpse of what this event was like:
